The “Reel” Deal... Bichteman Racing is please to announce that Hannay Reels Inc. has agreed to sponsor the Team for the 2006 race season and comes on board as a major sponsor. Hannay Reels, established in 1933, is the world's largest reel manufacturer. Hannay manufactures reels for audio/visual, fire fighting/rescue, aviation, grounds maintenance, petroleum and custom applications.

“It's All Tar”… Bichteman Racing will after 8 years of grass snowmobile grass racing will devote all its resources to Prostock Asphalt racing. Commencing in May of 2006, the Bichteman Race Team will no longer participate in grass drag racing but instead will concentrate on the ever-growing world of professional NHRA/IHRA one-quarter mile asphalt snowmobile drag racing. Bill Bichteman announced earlier this year his intention to run the full National Speed Association (NSA) schedule as well as the hotly contested Pro-Stock shoot-out in Cicero, NY in July. Bichteman added “We consider the NSA schedule to be an opportunity to showcase our talent and professionalism while at the same time providing our sponsors with the maximum exposure. We are looking forward to the challenge.” The Prostock sleds run about 150MPH and distance the ¼ mile in about 8.5 seconds.

Ryan Sweeney joins Bichteman Racing… “Fly'n Ryan Sweeney” after riding in several ice races last winter has agreed to join the Team full time to handle the driving for the busy NSA asphalt schedule slated to begin May 27 th at the legendary Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan. Ryan who has more than 8 years snowcross experience with Rock Maple Racing, where he won several division championships. Sweeney also was “Rookie of the Year” in his debut pro season and received the “Sportsmanship Award”. Ryan is a graduate of Paul Smiths College and owns his own tree and land management business.
